Thoughts of an Entrepreneur

Ever since I can remember, I have always been someone who likes to take the unmarked trail. I like to do things my own way, on my own terms and learn from my own mistakes. I’ve always had an internal entrepreneur mindset and a bossy, yet teachable attitude. I know that this mindset isn’t for everyone, but if you are wired this way, you know that there is no sense in fighting it or trying to calm it down. You have to figure it out, unpack it, embrace it.

Your friends and family likely don’t understand. They might even ask you how you could ever possibly be comfortable leaving the security of your 9-5 job or why you can’t just settle with a corporate job like everyone else. You don’t understand their concern because your entrepreneur brain reads passion over security and reminds you that when you follow your passions, security will ensue. Just as not everyone is meant for the corporate world, not everyone can handle being an entrepreneur.

However, you’ve likely learned that this mindset doesn’t give you the excuse to be irresponsible. If you have to pay your rent, don’t quit your job to become an entrepreneur until you have a savings, and begin taking small steps towards freedom from your job. In this time, build your voice, build your audicence, believe in yourself and your craft, and realize what you have to offer the world. Understand that if bein an entrepreneur is something you truly want, you are going to do whateer it takes to make it happen.

If you have an entrepreneur’s brain, you know that you don’t have to wait for the right time, the right time will find you. You may be fed up at your corporate job and resign abruptly one day, or you may have an expertly mapped out goal list that leads you to your dream. Whichever way, you know that if you ignore or don’t trust your intuition, you may never discover your full potential as an entrepreneur, business owner, boss babe, etc.

Know your support system, lean on your support system, and work so, so hard towards your passion. You may instinctively know your dream and it may never waiver, or you may be the type of entrepreneur who thrives off of conquering goals and working towards dreams and adapting new passions and dreams along the way.

Never stop growing and educating yourself, surrounding yourself with people who inspire and motivate you, and most of all never stop believing that you can do anything you set your mind to.
